My 1st day of psycho journey (for assignment)

Welcome to my blog.
Firstly, I would like to thank my sister for helping me create this nice blog..
Thank you, Regent! (my sister)

Well, today is the first day I started my lecture in HELP psychology. I find this course very interesting. That's what I want. I'll be looking forward for the following lectures with nice and challenging lecturers.

In my opinion, Psychology is a word that normally people will deal with the word ‘crazy’. I think most of the time in Malaysia, they do not really get used to see a psychologist when they or their loves one having problems in their life. Before I started this course, whenever I heard my friends who are studying psychology, I’ll also have the same thinking, ie. These people are mad. Well, now, it’s turn for my other peers to have such perspective on me. Even my family members and relatives also not really agreed that I take up this course. They still can’t see the career in future after I’ve done my degree.

I’ll take up this psychology course basically is because of my teaching experience in a primary school. I need to collect money for my first year tuition fees therefore I’ve been working as a temporary primary teacher for the last one and a half year. I’m very frustrated with some kids during that period. I met with all kind of kids in this school. Those kids with Hypertension Deficit, violent, bullying others, do not like to talk, slow in learning etc, are the one who lead me into this course. I wanted to help them very much but I knew that I couldn’t do so with my little knowledge. That’s why I wanted to study psychology and wish that I could help out them one day. These kids are really very nice to you sometimes when they are ‘normal’, but when they are not in their mood, they’ll do things that unexpected by you. I can say that teaching is really a challenging work as what I had experienced. I do salute with all the teachers around the world for their passion to take up this career and to build up our new generation.

Well, although I’m the oldest in my group but I still manage to mingle with them. Maybe it’s partly because of my chubby face. I do not look like 21 years old but look like 16 years old. None of my group member noticed my age till they asked about the year I was born. Well, age is not a point to stop me from studying this course. Although most of my friends who studied this course have graduated but I still think that there’s not too late if I have the passion in studying this course. I wanted to make this course part of my life and applied what I had learn throughout this course to help out the needy one.

Today is my first day into university college life. Actually I’m very excited for that because I’ve been waited for this day to come for one and a half year ago. Now, let me introduce one of my lecturers. She is Ms Yeo Pei Li. She is teaching PSY110, Career Guidance. She is nice because she organized an interesting ice breaking once the class started. I get to know more of my course mate through that session. I can make use of this method when I was to organize a camp or any motivation talk in future.

We have been told and assigned two assignments for the first day of lecture. That’s university life, what my friends always complain to me every time I chat with them. Well, although I do not really know what to do but I’ll figure it out as soon as possible so that I’ll not do the last minute work. I'll take this good opportunity to change myself into a better quality of person. This is how we are going to prepare ourselves to become a good and professional psychologist.

I hope that I can fully make use of what the assignments and examinations and bring all this into my career in future. Thank you for my daddy for sending me all the way from Cheras to HELP every morning. Although he mentioned that I’m psycho since the day I registered this course but I can feel the supports from him. I’ll really work hard on this course so that I really get what I wish to be in future. I like the sayings that Ms Yeo put it on the slideshow, ‘We live half of our life at work’ and ‘ Choose a job you love – you will never have to work anymore’. I totally agree with both statements. Most of the people nowadays spend half of their life working for their living expenses. It is a must for all of us to work, but if we are working on what we loved, it means that we do not need to suffer too much on the work pressure.
