A lecture that make me know myself better..

Today’s speaker is Mr. Kumar Mahalingam. He talks about different kind of career paths. He also introduces to us an author named Corey who discovers the six factors in career making decision. In the six factors given, I can say that throughout the activities that Mr. Kumar asked us to do make me understand myself deeper.

I find it that this lecture gives myself a vivid view on my own personality. I get motivations from the activities. I also know that what attitude should I have in order to drive to the successful goal. The abilities provided will also drive us to a successful person in my own career. We also must have interests, values and self-concept for choosing the career. These factors will drive us to the right career in future.

I’ve tried to log in into the website, O*Net, given by Mr. Kumar for more information on which career I’m suitable with. In order to get the details, I use the Holland’s R.I.A.S.E.C. that provide me three character code to search for occupation that suit my code. I get the code from the Vienna Test I did last month. My code is SCE, which stated that I could be an employment interviewer, education administrator, counsellor etc. This gives myself a much more clearer idea which career I’m most suitable to fit into.

In order to let myself get to my goal, I must start planning what should I do to let I get one step closer to my goal. I’ve started to make a timetable so that I’ll make sure my time was fully spent in useful work. I cannot waste any single minutes because this will delay my drive to successful career goal.
