My Mission Statement =S

Today’s speaker is Mr. Eric. I miss Pei Li because, every time, she will make me more energetic during her lectures although it is early in the morning. Well, other lecturers like Mr. Eric and Mr. Kumar also have their own teaching method. However, I personally prefer Pei Li’s teaching method though. The very first sentence that Pei Li would say, “Give a high five to your friends and said you are awesome” gives me the motivation for the day. I have always loved this class among my other subjects because this lecture seems to give me a sense of relaxation, nevertheless providing me a clearer vision on myself so as to further consider my future career.

We were asked to create our own personal mission statement for the class today. There were six steps to do in order to prepare that of the mission statement. I have had three missions at this point. The first mission is I want to let peace prevail on earth with all the energy I have. The second mission is I would love to share my love with the children around the globe. And last but not least, I would like to entertain and bring joy to tourists so as to let them hold a certain degree of trust upon me. These three missions seem simple and easy but it did take me a hard time to think of them. The happiest thing is that from here I can find out the pathway that I am going to take up in establishing my future career. Thus, I would love to be a teacher or a tour guide.

As what Covey said, “I will live each day with courage and a belief in myself and others” and “I will help others as best I can and will thank those who help me along the way”. I totally agree with what he said because I think that everyone in this world is full of emotions. They can feel that those who helped them before and will feel thankful for the one who lent out their helping hand. Therefore, in order to be one person who is willing to help out without asking anything in return is not impossible. As long as we have set the mission statement and all we need to do is just follow that and follow our heart will do.

Besides talking on lecture, I also went for individual counselling. It also made me understand and make my mind think clearer on what am I going to do for my three years in order to pursue my career in future. I will continue go for the counselling not because of the bonus point but for myself to know more about my own strengths and weaknesses; hence try to change them and become a better person in life.

This week is Career Awareness Campaign week and a number of talks will be held in different places. I will take this opportunity to go for these talks to improve myself and get to know these workplaces better. Moreover, I am also going for Peer Support Group (PSG) Search-In Camp from Friday till Sunday this very week. I wish to get to know myself better and know what I want to do in order to strike my goal. Looking forward to that camp. All said, I must make sure I’ll be discipline enough in order to achieve goals through my career in the future. Keep it up, Alice! Do not get upset easily and always be optimistic because, “whenever there is a will, there is a way”.
